Assigned to H&S Co. 1st Tracs in Nov 66 as a young 3rd Class Petty Officer. Served as company corpsman untill Jan or Feb 1967 and was transferred to Cua Viet with HN Townsend. We relieved a Corpsman named Frenchy. Townsend was Medivaced in early spring before the rest of Bn was moved up to cauViet. I aran patrols both north and south with several different companies, primarily with Alpha and H&S. I left in November 1967. Later in my career I was stationed at 29 Palms (1976-78), then H&S Co. 3rd Mar Div. ((78-79). I was the Chief who brought a mediccal team from Sigonela to Beriut the day the baarracks got bombed. The most memorable years of my career where serving with the Marine Corp. I feel like one of you aguys. Thanks for your acceptance and the Title of "DOC".

I was a Corpsman assigned to the BAS in Camp Schwab, Okinawa. around 1971-1972. Along with Doc Donovan Dunlop. I went afloat with A Co. aboard the USS Duluth. Anyone remember us? We lost Donovan, my best friend since then last year. I'm trying to remember and document our service for our children and grandsons.Lt. Paperone, Staff Sgt Wargo, Sgt. Crow and Cpl Guatney from S.C. among others. Good memories. Any help including web referrals is appreciated.

I served in 1st AmTrac Bn. 3rd MarDiv. Camp Schwab, Okinawa from January through November 1972. I haven't researched your sight, but I think you might not know we were part of Operation Song Thang 6-72. (not sure if I got that exactly correct) about 23 May 1972 we landed South Vietnamese Marines in the vicinity of the Cua Viet River. Two tractor platoons made the landing. Though they came under enemy mortar and small arms fire, no tractors were lost, nor personel. injured. I know these events to be tru because first, I was there. My platoon did not make the landing, but I observed from the deck of the ship. Also, more inportantly, I have the doccuments to verify my story. If anyone is interested, I can send them to you.

I am posting on behalf of Donald Allen (Bud) Fisher, my step-father. He served in Vietman during 1967 with the 1st AMTRAC Battalion, he was a mechanic. Some locations he has mentioned specifically are Mekong Delta January 1967, Phu Bai January and February 1967, and an operating base at the mouth of the Dong Ha River where he was until November 1967 when he left. If anyone remembers him or has any info to share please email naw15349@yahoo.com I can get you in contact with him if you would like to talk to him.

The squad I was in from India Co.3/4 was riding on an amtrac outside Con Thien on Aug. 21, 1967. It hit a land mine and ten of us were badly burned. I just read seperately on line that crew member J.D. William Kersey, wounded that day, died eight days later. On this web site it says there was 1 WIA and Kersey is not mentioned in the Fallen section.

He also is in contact with Joe Grizzel of West Virginia. I have found about ten Marines that served with me at Whote Beach.
