Nice sight, I first rode in an AMTRAC Sept. 1965 in Chu Lai. The Driver told us that on blue prints they weren't supposed to float. Besides being my first few weeks in country his remarks were not very comforting. Was a young Cpl. and now I'm going to die by drowning or get shot when the ramp opens? After that day had many runs with AMTRACKS thanks for the rides and memories. Can anyone tell me what Plt was at Chu Lai Sept. 1965?

Relocating. Time to sell off two LVTP-5 related items: a 1/32 professionally made model of the P-5 with the markings 3-B-310 on the sides. Come with a wooden base and plexi custom-made cover. Also, a Zippo lighter with the P-5 embossed on the side and "1st Am Trac Bn Camp Kistler Viet Nam" above it.
Contact me for photos if interested.

Hey, you tractor-rats! I came over to Da Nang with 1st Tracs and was folded into 3rd tracks. That was Aug/'65. Got blown up out at An Hoa with a tractor full of claymores and lived to tell about it. I was a "stickin' mother-fuc*er". If you think it was scary WATCHING them drive off an LSD/LST,try driving one. Death Wish! Semper Fi you Devil Dogs!
