Served with the 1st Armored Amphibian Company 1966/1967 2nd Platoon, LVTH-6 #24 Crew Chief. During operation Arizona in June of 67 myself and SSgt Devine were WIA and the crew chief on the other gun was KIA when we were ambushed by a large NVA unit. My tour ended that day as I was sent back to the states for further surgeries. Semper fi to all marines:

I was with the 2nd Amtrac Bn, Able Company 2nd Platoon. I think that's correct. My tractor number was A27. Served 1954 to 1958. Anyone around from those days or that unit? Any unit citations awarded that unit?

Did anyone know Juel Stears aka Joe or Joel? He passed away last week. I discovered his discharge papers while going through his paperwork. I had no idea he had been in VN much less on AmTracs all during the 60's. He was a very quiet man especially about his past. I understand him better now.
