I was with 4th Plt. 1-A-45 from January 1967 to February 1968. I started out with Gunny Marklin at the 3/1 area and then did the float with 2/4 in May. We returned to Cau Viet and remained there until leaving in 1968. I've attempted to find several individuals but have had no luck: Lt Bailey "Frag"; Mike Halgren, AB Schuster "Skip"; Henderson; "Red"; Tony D; Doc Leasher; Joe (from Alabama) If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

I am like some of the guys, I forgot so much of what happened in VietNam. I was on the ship USS Sultan that was the first ship to go directly to Vietnam from the states. We didn't know we were goint to VN until we got to Okinawa. Does anyone remember me? I was the company Clerk of 1st AmTracs from July 1965 until I left in June 1966.

I'm Bob Baylis, I was with the 26th in 9/67 was sent up to engage AmTracs, (us being instructors?) teaching 1833s how to be 0311s. There were several of us. We arrived in Oct 67 and were assigned to different platoons. I was with A Co 4th Plt. from Oct 67 till July 68. Served with Crpmn Colins , Matheison, Hills, Jennings Lara , Seymour, Serpico, Baird, etc. So I have all those memories of those good times , bad times, high times, and the arty incoming episodes, ain't really came up with a name for those times yet. And if this is read by Miller and you are the bod in the tour battle fields you’re standing by the ruts where we used old track to build a road from SeaBees to H&S and the dump. Well if my calcs are correct about 250 yds out in that water is an old P5 probably 60 to 80 ft down. One morning we were crossing the river to A4 and one of the Tracs lost power, the tide was going out and it was going with it. They couldn’t get an engine restart so the navy sent out an LCU to pull off the crew and we watched that Trac sink.

Been a while since I visited this site. I was a radio tech (2841) with "A" Co. at Cua Viet & My Loc - later transferred to H&S Co. & went with the cadre to Camp Schwab, Okinawa until I rotated home. Now retired after 32 years in the insurance business. Took a trip to southern Arizona a few weeks ago; stopped in Phoenix on the way & had breakfast with Harold "Doc" Beasley, one of the corpsmen from H&S. He didn't have an Amgrunt baseball cap, so I gave him one of mine.
