I was with Delta Co. 1st Bn, 26th Marines. When we were on Hill 190 there were also about 4 to 6 amtracs also stationed at the hill. Hill 190 was up the river from Namo Bridge north of DaNang. I was there Oct 68 until about April 69. There were two blown up amtracs on the banks of the river that went past Hill 190. Anybody with the group stationed there? Great site. Semper Fi.

I was an engineer assigned to h &s co. 1st tracks in late '68 / early 69. I used to backblade the roads and fill the showers early in the morning, then work on the equipment the rest of the day. At night there was either guard post, listening post, ambush and about once a week, a night off. We didn't have much contact in those days: just the occassional rockets. Most of the guys I met, rotated shortly after; Scruggs, Tree, Dick Bostick {two tours}, Fisher {took me under his wing}, Franks {a gung ho warrior)and my closest bud Mike Ferguson. Mike and I worked together on Okinawa on some civic action program, filling in a valley between two mountains but our dozers crapped out. I've Thought about you many times over the years Mike but only recently became computer litertate; hope your out there and doing well.Fish, I think that's you up in Alaska, I'll see if your still there. I never knew the whole history of our outfit nor how priveleged I was to be associated with it.

I was with ANGLICO in the towers at Oceanview and C-4 in 1968. Always rode in style on top of the amtracs. An amtrac took me out of Oceanview with malaria. It was my last ride on one. I eventually ended up on the USS Repose and I rotated back to the world when I got off a month later.
Semper Fi and a great site!

I became a Tracker in 1971 after returning from RVN as a Grunt to Cam Pen. I ended up in C.Co 2nd Plt and helped train the entire 3rd AAV BN on the NEW LVTP7 man those were great times. One time the BN Commander I think Ltc. Buttoff had a recall at night and around 80% of the P-5s could not get off the ramp. All the P-7s were running great, that guy was pissed. Any you guys remember me Sgt Don Knobloch?
