I just stumbled onto this site while seaching for other AmTrac sites. I served as an 1833 from 1979 to 1983. I took a ton of photographs and have just restored them direct from the negs. Anyone interested in seeing the images from that era, feel free to stop by my photosite: www.americanjarhead.com

Vic Carroll- I arrived in DaNang July 66 , names I remeber are Joe Nean, Don Owens, Bill Boatman, Sgt. Smithy, Pudvay, Clark, French, and Sample. Pudvay was hit while on river patrol in DaNang. Boatmen was WIA at Cua Viet when our tent was destroyed by artillery. Joe Nean was also WIA and went to the hospital ship for awhile only to return to action before going home. I served with H&S company LVT platoon all the time I was in Vietnam. I returned home from Cua Viet March 68 after spending 2 tours. I was on operation Hickery II with Sgt. Stout as crew chief and Sample was our gunner and I drove. The tractor was installed with litters and made into a medavac vehicle. If anyone remembers me please e-mail me SEMPER FIDELES Victor Carroll

To all the retired Amtrac marines: I'm the webmaster for the Amtracmafia.com website. I would like you all to know I am currently working on the amtracmafia website to make it more user friendly for our retired Marines. Currently access is granted to the site by a crude verification method. The purpose behind having to verify identity is to protect the content of the site. This site includes sensitive class material & other OPSEC sensitive items. I've had many requests from our retired community & regrettably was unable to verify some identities. Any suggestions are welcome. I am able to provide email accounts for all retired Amtrac Marines with very little verification. If you would like one just email me at webmaster@amtracmafia.com with a brief comment on your MOS (1833/2141) career. Your email will be like this: yourname@amtracmafia.com. By the way Amtrac.org is a fantastic site! It's nice to see other share the same passion. YAT YAS and Semper Fi!
